FROM DREAM TO SCREEN
Introducing Concrete Jungle: A New Glasgow Gangster Crime Drama
Set in the gritty streets of Glasgow, Concrete Jungle is a new television show that delves into the dark and dangerous world of organized crime.
Created by Anton O'Donnell, the series follows Jamie McGregor, a man who finds himself trapped in a life-or-death struggle after a drug deal goes wrong. Indebted to the ruthless underworld boss Joe Sutherland, Jamie must navigate a treacherous path to repay his debt—or pay with his life.

Bringing Concrete Jungle to life was no easy feat. Independently created and self-funded, the project was a labour of love for Anton O'Donnell, who also stars as Jamie McGregor. Balancing two jobs and long hours, Anton worked tirelessly to fund and write the series, driven by a determination to tell this story. Alongside him, a small but dedicated crew faced numerous challenges, from last-minute rewrites to unexpected setbacks like injuries and the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these hurdles, the team remained committed to realizing their vision.

The series was co-directed and edited by Graeme Watt, with Bryan McIntyre handling cinematography and sound. The cast, including Tony MacDonald as the menacing Joe Sutherland and Henry Campbell as the troubled Harry McGregor, brought depth and authenticity to the characters, helping to elevate the show’s intense narrative.

Concrete Jungle is a testament to the resilience and collaboration of its creators, who refused to let obstacles stand in the way of their vision. Premiering on STV Player on March 3rd, this independently produced show invites viewers into the shadowy underworld of Glasgow, offering a raw and compelling look at the consequences of crime and desperation.
